Cortina / ◎210cm / Snowy2020.Dec.31
The last powder snow festival in 2020 was epic! Due to the holidays and the good snowfall, there was the longest line in this season in front of No.2 Quad (Photo). By the way, all lifts were late for the open, so No.1 Pair, No.2 Quad and No.6 Pair were open at 8:50 a.m. and No.3 Quad and No.4 Pair were open at 9:20 a.m.

The rain from the last morning changed into snow after that and it was snowing heavily from the last to this morning. Almost all people rushed into Mt. Hieda Course 2 and 3 after getting off the lifts. Mt. Hieda Course 1 (Photo) had even 70cm deep deep fresh snow! People skied into the off-piste area and made tracks beautifully.

Even the lowest area in Cortina, Warabi-daira, had 50-60cm fresh snow in the off-piste area (Photo) as well! This area was keeping the fresh snow for a long time until around 11:00 a.m. At that time, the snow got weaker and we had the soft sunlight from the breaks of clouds.

In this early morning, the local 3 people from Hakuba gave me a greeting, “We always check your reports! There was a good snowfall last night. We are really looking forward to riding in the powdery snow!” Ikenota was groomed just before the open, so it was nicely flat, soft and in good condition as well.
