It snowed densely from dawn. Furthermore, the wind got intense after the slope opened. “We’re working in the same office. We stayed at Hotel Green Plaza Hakuba last night. We didn’t expect this much snow!”, five snowboarders coming from Omiya city, Saitama prefecture said.

There were ups and downs in Itadaira Course, where the non-compacted snow was covered with about 20 cm of heavy fresh snow. My skis were scratched because the snow was hard. Meanwhile, advanced skiers and snowboarders were enjoying slashing in defiance of the hard snow. The snow gradually became rough because of the ski tracks.

“We look forward to your reports! We’ll return home today. We’re glad that we have this much snow. We’ll fully enjoy the heavy powder snow”, a couple coming from Osaka said. Some hard bumps were covered with about 20 cm of fresh snow in Hieda Ⅰ.

Trees were covered with frost in the upper area. The firmly compacted snow was covered with about 15 cm of fresh snow in Hieda forest Course (pictured). Meanwhile, the firm granular snow was covered with 10~15 cm of fresh snow in Ikenota Slope. It was a little bit hard to gain speed on the gentle slope in the bottom area.
