Cortina / ◎160cm / Snowy2020.Feb.06

20020601_cortinaWe’ve finally got heavy snow! The snow calmed down in the morning, however, the north wind started to bring heavy snow around 8:30 a.m. I saw the longest waiting line of this season at No.4 Pair station. People scattered across the non-compacted slope of Itadaira and Hiedayama Course 1~3 as soon as they got off the lift.

20020602_cortinaThe soft powder snow was about 60 cm deep in Hiedayama Course1 (pictured). I had a floating feeling and didn’t feel the bottom, although there were some big bumps. I heard people shouting with fun here and there. Some people were trouble getting up from falling in the deep fresh snow.

I enjoyed carving turns in Ikenota Slope (pictured), Hiedayama Rinkan Course and Ipponmatsu Course, where the soft compacted snow was covered with about 10 cm of fresh snow. Some beginners were skiing/snowboarding slowly in these three courses.
