“The 2nd Japan Shoe Kicking Competition” (Photo) was held from 3:00 p.m. today as a closing out event of this summer. People kicked off their shoes (Sandals prepared for this event) within 5 seconds after a 30 second run-up from “Yoo-Hoo! Swing”. Totally 19 people including a kid were competing in the distance at 3 classes divided by their height.

The winner of each class got the season pass of the gondola lift for the 2022 summer season. The second prize was a T-shirt and the third prize was a tote bag. At 6:00 p.m, “Eco Lantern”, a fire free event, was started. By the way, tomorrow will be the last operation day of this summer and Hakuba Iwatake Snow Field will start the winter operation on Dec. 17 (Fri).

The strong cold wave from the last night to this morning brought the first snowfall on the upper part of Iwatake this season. However, HAKUBA MOUNTAIN HARBOR was still crowded with people (Photo). At Sky Ark, I saw families and couples enjoying “Workshop of Making S’more” (JPY500, Baked Sweet Potato included).

“CHAVATY HAKUBA” which was pre-opened in HAKUBA HITOTOKI-NO MORI last week had a long line of people. From the terrace on the south side, we could see the beautiful landscape of Hakuba with the autumn tints (Photo). People were having a relaxing time with the tea latte and scones at the free tables and chairs in the west area.
