From 5:00 p.m. on May 26 (Wed), “Eclipse Watching Event” was held in the summit area of Iwatake. There was also a live music performance by Mr. Moi at Yoo-Hoo! Deck from 6:00 p.m. (1st & 2nd Photo). We could enjoy the original songs and covers of popular music with the piano accompaniment.

The approach from the summit station to Sky Ark and a part of the beech forest were decorated with hand-made bamboo lanterns of LED. SKYARK DECK CAFE extended the opening hour and served non-alcoholic drinks (3 drinks, JPY800) which were made by this cafe and Hokuriku Coca Cola together. By the way, the sky was covered with clouds in the chilly air of 10 degrees, so we could not see the eclipse of the moon.

Totally 50 eco-lanterns were prepared (Photo, *JPY1,500 each, both individual and group can join) and went up to the sky after the countdown at 7:30 p.m. These LED lanterns made of traditional Japanese paper were floating in the air with the gas.

In the morning on the same day, we could see the mountains of the Northern Alps clearly from HAKUBA MOUNTAIN HARBOR. The temperature was 17 degrees and there was a week north wind, so a light jacket was good to wear. By the way, “１Day Only Scenic Extreme Sauna Event in Hakuba” will be held by TABISAUNA on June 12 (Sat).
