The rainy season has begun in the south Kyusyu Region on May 11 (Tue), north Kyusyu, Chugoku, Shikoku Region on May 15 (Sat) and Kinki, Tokai Region on May 16 (Sun). The seasonal rainy front has not reached the Kanto Koshin Region yet, but it has been raining sometimes from May 16 (Sun) in Hakuba. Today (Photo), we finally had a sunny day with the strong north wind after 8 gloomy days.

The season is changing rapidly in these 20 days and the mountains are getting covered with bright green leaves, although there were less colors on the summit area at the last report. In Hakuba Iwatake MTB PARK, all of the courses are open now (Photo, some parts of Kamikaze Downhill are closed) and Slalom Competition will be held on the next weekend. By the way, people who bought the season pass last year or live in Nagano Pref. will have a discount when they buy the season pass (*Adult JPY41,000, Child 25,500) for this season.

Nezuko-no-mori Forest (Photo) is also getting into bright green and the air was really fresh there. I could hear Japanese Nightingales singing as well. It is recommended to wear steady shoes which are resistant to dirt and water because some parts of the walking route are wet and muddy now.

At the terrace of HAKUBA MOUNTAIN HARBOR, you can use table, chairs and cushions (Photo) for sitting for free. By the way, “Solar Eclipse Watching Event presented by The Battle Cats with Eco Lanterns, Music Live and Bamboo Lanterns” will be held on May 26 (Tue) from 5:00 p.m.
