August 10 (Mon), Mountain Day in Japan, was “Hakuba Iwatake MTB Day”. “SUMMER FRIENDLY MATCH” was held in Skill Up Area in Hakuba Iwatake MTB Park, organized by Hakuba Mountain Bike Club (pictured). There were about 50 participants including adults and children. Most of them were residents in Hakuba Village. [Hakuba Iwatake MTB PARK]
It was cloudy in the morning but it started to clear up around 9 am. In SUMMER FRIENDLY MATCH, participants rode twice on the winding downhill Fun Ride Course and competed for the best time. There were three classes: “Kids”, “Women”, and “Men”. The competition started around 10 am. Parents and staff members were sending cheer along the course.

Participants were riding faster in the order of Men, Women, and Kids. Some participants in the Men class rode under 50 seconds. Hamburgers were given by an owner of Tracks Bar to racers when the last two digits of their records were the same.

I found snack stalls, sports clothing stalls, helmet stalls, and ROSSIGNOL stalls, where you can test ride an e-bike “E-TRACK TRAIL”, on the southern side of Gondola Sanroku Station (pictured). Lottery tickets were given to those who added Hakuba Iwatake official account on LINE and joined in the event. The winners got an “Iwatake Special Lucky Bag”.
