This year, the rainy season had started on June 11th (Thu), 3 days later than the usual, but it was relatively sunny during the late June. After that, the rainy front moved up to the north on the main land of Japan and it brought more rain in July. On July 5th (Sun) when we visited Iwatake, the top of the mountain (Photo) was in the thick foggy and cool air.

This weekend began quietly because of the rain until the morning. I saw more and more people coming up finally around 10:00 a.m. A mother from Ikusaka Village in Nagano talked, “This is the first time to visit Iwatake in the summer season for us. My children are enjoying their first try on slacklining.” In the Beech Forest, there are 2 slacklines for visitors, which are available anytime.

At THE CITY BAKERY, the normal menus are started again from June 1st (Wed). Usually, the register is placed in front of the dining area (Photo, counter sears only) on busy holidays, but today it was in the north building as on weekdays, because the shop was not so crowded with people.

One of the highly recommended menus at SKYARK DECK CAFE is “VEGE BOWL” (Regular 980, Large 1,200, drinks not included) and you can choose the main from Shinshu Salmon (Photo) and Steak. Shinshu Salmon is seasoned with the original sauce made of miso. By the way, Iwatake starts to provide a new service named as “Hakuba Resort Telework” from July 1st (Wed). Visitors can use whole areas of Iwatake as a working place for teleworking. Also, Hakuba Iwatake MTB PARK is open everyday from July 4th (Sat).
