Karamatsusawa snow patch (※the left one in the photo) has been confirmed as glacier on Oct.2 (Wed), according to Hakuba Village. It is the seventh glacier confirmed in Japan and the second glacier in Nagano, following Kakunezato snow patch in Mt.Kashimayari. HAKUBA MOUNTAIN HARBOR commands a fine view of the snow patch.

The weather today was the best in October. It was very refreshing with the dry air and no wind. By the way, plants and trees are still green at the top of Iwatake. I guess you will be able to enjoy the autumn leaves, although the extremely powerful typhoon, No.19, is coming over the weekend.

The terrace in the beech forest is great for “workation”, which has grown in popularity recently. The term, workation, includes two words, “work” and “vacation”, which implies doing work while being on vacation. You can connect to wifi, charge your phone/PC, and use the flat desk made by Snow Peak having excellent feeling of touch.

HAKUBA MOUTAIN HARBOR was already crowded at 9:30 and some people were enjoying bread and drinks at THE CITY BAKERY. THREE PEAKS TICKET, which includes gondola and lift tickets at Iwatake, Happo and Tsugaike, as well as Double Mountain Ticket, which includes gondola tickets at Iwatake and Hakuba, will come out this year.

Sky Ark opens at 11 a.m. everyday. Cream stew, hamburg, curry and rice, pasta etc. using Hakuba pork, Shinshu beef and Shinshu vegetable are served, developed on the locally-grown, locally-consumed principle.
