Hakuba Iwatake is a great place to enjoy fresh mountain air and atmosphere with your pets. People started to wait in line at Gondola Sanroku Station before the Gondola started, and HAKUBA MOUNTAIN HARBOR got crowded around 9:30. “We’re on a three day – two night trip. We’ll visit Happo, Azumino and Matsumoto.”, a couple coming from Miyagi Prefecture said.

They were leading a cat on a leash, surprisingly. You can ride on Gondola with your pets – 600 yen per head. You can also visit Tenbo Picnic lounge (shown in the photo), Forest Terrace, and the terrace at HAKUBA MOUNTAIN HARBOR with your pets.

The midsummer heat has gone and I enjoyed mountain walk in the strong shine. It felt nice especially in the leafy shade in Nezuko-no-mori. However, there were some muddy parts due to the rain last night.

If you go along the trail leading to the back of Sky Arch, you’ll reach “Wanwan Park (Dog Park)” in the forest, which is located on the northern side of the top of Iwatake. I saw a dog (shown in the photo) playing with fallen twigs. The ground is nicely soft and there is a slack line in the park.
