We have lots of cloudy or rainy days these days as it’s been rainy season since Jun.7 (Fri). It’s been especially cool over the last week although it’s July already. It was refreshing on the first day of the three-day holiday with the temperature below 20℃ at the top in the morning. Gondola starts operation at 8 a.m. on Saturdays, Sundays and national holidays until Jul.28 (Sun), on Jul.29 (Mon), and between Aug.1 and Aug.25 (Sun).

Unfortunately, the ridge of the Norther Alps was hidden in the fog, however, people seemed to be impressed with the magnificent view from HAKUBA MOUNTAIN HARBOR. I saw some people coming with their dogs and enjoying breads and a cup of coffee / tea at THE CITY BAKERY.

A part of “IWATAKE GREEN PARK” opened today under the supervision of Snow Peak (Shown in the photo.※The whole area will open around late July). By the way, the regular starting points are now open at Kamikaze and Alps Downhill Course in Hakuba Iwatake MTB PARK.

Hakuba Iwatake Mountain HARBOR started to extend business hours until 8 p.m. on Saturdays, Sundays and national holidays and during Obon holiday (※until Aug.25 (Sun)). You can enjoy “magic hour”, when sky and mountains change color, for a long time because the Northern Alps is located in the west and the sun sets earlier here compared to the flat area.

You can grab Hakuba local beer, finger food, hot beverage etc. at THE CITY BAKERY. Why don’t you go to the mountain top to enjoy evening view, menu and fantastic illumination? By the way, a rogaining race event, “OMM LITE/BIKE HAKUBA, OTARI 2019” is being held held today and tomorrow at the foot.
