It had been cloudy and rainy since the last report, but this morning, we had a fine day with the clear sky. It was very cold because of the radiative cooling in the early morning, however, it got warmer and warmer as time passed. The autumn tints in the middle part of Iwatake is in the peak season and they made a beautiful contrast with the blue sky.

The weather forecast said it would be fine after a long while, so I met many people who had cameras and tripods. From the beech forest, we could see the three-layered autumn tints of “white snow, autumn tints and green trees”.

Although the autumn tints in the summit area and Nezuko-no-mori Forest is getting to the end. A lot of trees dropped their leaves because of the 21st typhoon Lan came on Oct. 23 (Mon). Some trees, especially the trees of Kaede, still kept their leaves beautiful (Photo).

Some parts of Nezuko-no-mori View Trail were muddy because of the rain yesterday. It takes only 1 and a half hours from Sky Ark if you walking around here and there are view spots, such as “Nezuko-no-kyoboku (Giant Tree)” and “Uma (Horse) Beech”.

In the south east, the sea of clouds spread over Hakuba. After 10:00 a.m, Iwatake got crowded with visitors and bikers. We could see the snow-capped Peaks of Togakushi, such as Mt. Hiuch and Myoko in the north east as well.
