Under the clear autumn sky, there was a long line leading up to the roundabout at the first gondola station ticket counter in the morning. (※An early discount ticket that allows you to pass through the gondola ticket gate without redemption on such days is convenient.) One who climbed without riding a lift from the front of the cafeteria Kurobishi (photo) told me, “It’s hot. Today I’ve already consumed a lot of energy by coming here.”

Compared to the day before yesterday, typhoon No. 13 and No. 15 had returned to the midsummer heat, and during the trekking, we often exchanged conversations with “It was fine, but it was hot.” The slope looking up from the second Cologne, where the autumn leaves began, was dyed in golden.

At 9:20, there was an unbroken line of people in the section before Cologne 2-Happo Cologne-Cologne 3. After this, clouds did not rise from the pass, and when I looked south, I could clearly see the appearance of Goryu-dake (photo) and Kashima-yatsugatake.

Alpine plants were flowering in the Happo-One Nature Research Area. In addition, we were able to enjoy it even though it was past the summer season, such as hypericum (photo), hakusan shajin, which was often seen in the upper and lower parts of the wooden road course, and the Takamatsu tsumugi persimmon around Happoike.

At Happoike’s classic deck (pictured), the appearance of taking pictures of the Northern Alps reflected on the surface of the water while exchanging excitement and exclamation was outstanding. Many of the people I met, including two from Niigata Prefecture (second photo), went up to Mt Karamatsudake.
