It has been getting colder and colder after October started and especially today, the temperature was just “5 degrees” in Kurobishi-daira this morning. The autumn tints moved to the lower area and the trees along Kurobishi No.3 and around Kamaike Marsh were in their peak.

From the middle part of Riesen Grat to the beginning part of Board walk, the clouds were coming up from the valley and sometimes it got foggy. When the clouds broke up, we could see the peaks of Mt. Goryu and Mt. Kashimayari.

After that, we climbed up over the clouds. When I looked back around Cairn No.2, the great sea of clouds were spreading out. The far mountains looked like islands and we could see even Mt. Fuji in the south east.

The autumn tints around Happo-ike Pond had passed its peak already and the color changed into deep and dark. However, the slope of the valley in the north part was covered with red, yellow and orange leaves.

It was blowing a strong wind in the upper part from Happo Cairn and it made waves in Happo-ike Pond. After 10:00 a.m, the this clouds blew away by the north wind and the blue sky appeared gradually with the warm sunshine.
