Happo is crowded even entered September and many people were waiting for the gondola at 7:30 a.m. Not only Ridge Trail but gentle slope of the boardwalk was also crowded. This family from Toyama Pref. gave me the watchword.

There were few clouds at 7 a.m. and the view of Hakuba Sanzan was great but mountain top was covered with the clouds at before 8 a.m. After the sunlight was blocked, it felt cool and most people were wearing long-sleeve shirts. But it was comfortable to climb the steep slope.

People were making long line after No.2 Cairn but only few people were climbing down, so it was not crowded as much as expected. The fog got thicker at around Happo Cairn and it seem like I was walking in the clouds.

Alpine flowers of late summer and early autumn were in bloom, like of Hakusan-shajin, Umebachi-so, Takane-matsumushiso and Iwashoubu. Meanwhile, midsummer flower, Miyama-kogomegusa were at their peak.

Happo-ike Pond was covered with thick cloud and there were no view. But it was a nice resting place and atmosphere was great. Further, the temperature was 15 degree Celsius and it was same when I started climbing.
