Because of the high pressure system, the clear blue sky spread out in this morning. The Autumn tints along Alpen Quad were in their peaks now. I found red and yellow leaves in the trees along the gondola as well.

We had much cloudy days in this season, so the fine weather made me walk with a light step. Mountains of Nagano showed us the great peaks clearly. The mountain foot areas were still covered with deep green trees, but the upper parts started to turn into red gradually.

Ridge Trail course is very popular because the wooded stairs had been set on the ridge, so we can enjoy trekking at our own pace in Broadwalk course. It was so cold that the wooden paths got covered with frost, but I felt warm and even hot thanks to the sunlight.

From Cairn No.3, I could see the great view of peaks of Hakuba and Happo-ike Pond. It haldly blew a wind and the mirror-like surface of the pond reflect the mountains beautifully.

The first snow fallen on Oct. 12 (Wed) still remained on the north face of Mt. Goryu. By the way, Hakuba Sanso Hut, Goryu Santo Hut and Mt. Karamatsu Chojo Sanso Hut will be closed on this weekend. All ski areas except for Iwatake will finish the summer operation in October and start to prepare for the winter.
