8 days have passed since the last report on June 27 (Mon.). It had been the typical weather of the rainy season and been overcast, pouring and muggy, but it got much better in this morning. I could see the blue sky after getting off Alpen Quad lift. In Kamaike Marsh, Nikkokisuge was in half-bloom and the contrast of the bright yellow flowers and green marsh made me excited.

The temperature was 20 degrees, hot enough to have me sweaty. However, a wind breezed from the west and cooled me down comfortably. The strong wind was blowing the clouds in the sky. (The flower in the photo is Oobagiboushi)

The good weather did not remain for a long time, and it got overcast around 9:30 a.m. The snow remaining in the upper part of Broadwalk course held the flowering up, so I could see the alpine flowers in Spring, such as Yukiwarisou and Miyamaazumagiku. Besides, lively and lovely small petals of Miyamadaimonjisou welcomed us there.

Hakusanshakunage was booming in the thicket near Cairn No.3. Iwagikyou (photo) also started to come out and showed pretty violet flowers.
[Around Happo-ike Pond, Happo Nature Trail]
It was blowy around Happo-ike Pond and the surface of the pond was rippling. I heard some people saying that they needed jackets. By the way, “Hakuba Alps Hana-Zanmai (Flower Festival)” was started on July 1 (Fri.), so I met many people during trekking.
