The second round of the North Alps Banked Slalom Series, 2022 BANKED SLALOM TSUGAIKE, is set to take place this weekend on 4/9 (Saturday)! Preparation is currently underway for the event on the skier’s right side of the top half of the slope paralleling the Han-no-ki High-Speed pair (pictured). The resort was blessed with clear and calm weather this morning.

Also, the HAMMER BANGER SESSION 2022 is underway now on the special event course set up on the Tsuga-no-mori-Slope from 4/3 (Sun.) to 4/6 (Wed.). This event is a high-level training exhibition that forgoes judging and the other trappings of standard competitions. This edition of the event has 15 entrants participating.

I was extremely impressed by the participants getting massive air of the big 17m kicker alongside the Tsuga No. 1 Pair (※operating for the exclusive use of participants and event staff), as well as their repertoire of spins and grabs. It was smooth skiing conditions on the groomed Tsuga-no-mori and Han-no-ki Slopes, where the granular snow surface was moderately soft.

As of yesterday and continuing on until the last day of the season on 5/8 (Sun.), there are currently only 4 operating lifts: the Gondola, Han-no-ki No. 3 Quad, Han-no-ki High Speed Pair, and the Tsuga No. 2 Pair. However, the slopes are still completely covered in snow and the resort is currently “fully open” with the exception of the Champion and Uma-no-se courses! In addition, the ropeway is scheduled to operate on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 4/9 to 4/30, and daily from 5/1 to 5/8.
