It was a beautiful morning with a slight haze in the eastern sky, but clear blue skies off to the west.
A husband and wife from Toyama (pictured) called out to me saying, “We always check your reports! We’ll be coming out for skiing several more times between now and Golden Week.” The TG PARKS terrain park was in great form again today, with all 11 items including the 11m kicker looking fantastic.

The area of exposed ground off to the sides of the Tsuga-no-mori Slope is increasing, but the ski run itself is in excellent condition. Cool temperatures overnight resulted in the slope surface being moderately firm (comfortably soft) in the early morning hours, and those conditions meant that my edges gripped well ? but not too deeply. I chatted with a couple of season pass holders from Nagano City (pictured) who told me, “We love your site! This is our last day to snowboard this season, and we feel lucky to have such fantastic weather.”

I took the ropeway up to the Tsugaike Nature Park, where the fresh snowfall from 4/18 (Sun.) added even more white to the wide expanse of snow-covered scenery spreading before me. The ropeway itself, which has a capacity of 70 people, is currently capping riders to a maximum of 30. (※When I rode it, there were probably only 15 people.) A couple of guys from Tochigi (pictured) told me they were planning to cross the length of the Nature Park and over Kanayama-sawa, and walk all the way to Sarukura. They commented, “This perfectly blue sky is reminiscent of winter… but it’s HOT!”

The forest cat track connecting the top ropeway station to the Tsuga-no-mori slope (pictured) had been groomed. A skier from Nagano’s Tomi City (pictured, left) said, “We’re planning on climbing up to the Nature Park. It’d be nice if there was more of a breeze to cool us down, but it’s hard to complain about the weather on such a perfect day.”
