As one of the events of “SLAB Spring Days”, “BOOK OFF presents FIS Big Air Japan Cup” is held in Tsuga-no-mori yesterday and today. The special course is in the upper north part along Tsuga No.1 Pair (Available only for participants and staff) and there was a huge 18m kicker (Photo) there.

Today was the second day and the official competition was held. In the male division, the participants have 2Heat (2RUN per Heat) and top 5 people of each Heat, totally 10 people can go to Finals. In the female division, the top 5 people of 1Heat (2RUN) can also go to Finals. Finals will be held this afternoon and the participants compete with 2 best runs out of 3RUN.

The groomed slope of corn snow was hard, so they could get high speed easily at the approach. The official training started at 8:45 a.m. and we could see the participants making big air tricks (Photo). Heat 1 RUN 1 of the male division started at 9:45 a.m. and the riders made cool tricks, spins and jumps one after another.

By the way, TG PARKS was open today, although it was planned to be open tomorrow. In the groomed slope of Han-no-ki, the beginning and bottom parts were wet and smooth and the middle steep part was very wet and soft. The snow was still enough to access the middle station of the gondola. However, Maruyama was closed on Mar. 29 (Mon) and finished its operation in this season.
