Tsugaike Kogen / ◎272cm / Snowy 2021.Jan.18
“I’m checking your website. I arrived on Jan.14 (Thu). The visibility is poor today, but I don’t mind.”, a skier (pictured) said. He then skied down the groomed run of Tsuga-no-mori, covered with about 5 cm of new snow. It was drizzling at the foot early in the morning, while it was snowy and foggy in the upper area!

The huge wet snowflakes falling down on Maruyama Slope. The groomed run was good, blanketed with a layer of new snow. I sometimes had to brush off the snow falling on my goggles.

In Hannoki area, the firm snow was covered with 3 cm of new snow on the groomed slope along the high-speed pair lift. Meanwhile, the hard snow was covered with 3 cm of heavy snow on the middle steep groomed slope. I sometimes got stuck in the snow on my way to Hannoki No.3 Quad station from the area where I took the picture. It was snowing at the mountain foot, too as of 10 am.

“I’m checking your website. I left home last night. I slept in my car to protect myself from Covid-19. I brought my own ski bike and sleigh.”, a man coming from Chiba prefecture said. The groomed wet snow was moderately firm on Kane-no-naru-oka. I didn’t get stuck, although there was a layer of new snow.
