The biggest cold wave in this season has come! We came to the ski area with a big expectation for the good snow, but the upper part of the gondola lift was not working due to the strong winds. Besides, Shirakaba Quad was late for the open, so I changed my mind and turned to Champion area.

Champion Quad (945m) started its operation at 8:40 a.m. After that, people who were trying to ski into powdery snow came to this area one after another when the staff announced, “Champion Quad is open now. Please enjoy the slope of Champion.” at around 9:00 a.m.

In the off-piste area of Champion, there was 40cm deep fresh snow and we could really enjoy the fluffy powder snow there. The center part was groomed widely and nicely firm with the 5cm fresh snow on it.

Today is in the New Year holidays, so a lot of people gave me cheers and greetings. Thank you all for that! The groomed slopes of Oya-no-hara and Karamatsu were nicely firm and in good condition. Because today is a national holiday, so Chuo Parking Area was already full at 9:50 a.m.
