Tsugaike Kogen / △180cm / Snowy2020.Dec.20
After Tsugaike Kogen was open on Dec. 11 (Fri) earlier than any other ski areas in HAKUBA VALLEY, Tsuga-no-mori was open on Dec. 17 (Thu) and Gezan Course (Lower part of Han-no-ki to Karamatsu) was open on Dec. 18 (Fri). This morning, 60% of the middle of Han-no-ki (Photo) was groomed and the rest of the slope was not. The groomed area was nicely soft and covered with fluffy fresh snow.

In the ungroomed steep slope in the middle of Han-no-ki where had about 30cm fresh snow, we could enjoy the feel of floating comfortably! (Photo). In spite of that condition, most of the people were skiing in the slope along Han-no-ki High Speed Pair in the early time, so this powdery area remained for a long time.
[Han-no-ki]
Not only the upper areas, but also the bottom areas such as Karamatsu (Photo) had an enough snowfall of 90cm deep and we could see no bushes on the slopes. Finally, the very long run which has the length of totally 5km is open now! By the way, Shirakaba Quad was started its operation on Dec. 19 (Sat) and the slope of Shirakaba was open as well.

A father from Toyama Pref. talked to me, “We always check your website! This is our first time to ski in Tsugaike this season today. We are surprised at the amount of the snow! I am really enjoying with my son who passed the technical skiing test in the last year.” Please don’t forget to check which slope will be open for the next from tomorrow!!
