Tsugaike Kogen / ×25cm / Snowy2020.Dec.08
The typical winter pressure pattern brought little rain in Kanenaru and Oyanohara Slope. The rain turned into snow when I reached the middle area of Shirakaba Slope (1,100 m above sea level) and it was snowing heavily in Tsuga-no-mori Slope (pictured). The stairs were totally covered with snow near Ropeway Sanroku Station (pictured).

New artificial snowfall machine have been installed along Hannoki high-speed pair lift. About 10 cm-layer of firm snow was covered with 10 cm of fresh snow. Many bushes were bare on Dec.4 (Fri), however, almost all of them were covered with snow this morning.

There was about 25cm of snow, 12~15cm of which were wet fresh snow, in Tsuga-no-mori Slope. The snow below was so firm covering the ground that I wasn’t able to put a tape measure into (pictured). More bushes were covered with snow this time, compared to the last time.

The snow calmed down in the upper area around 9:30 am and I saw the blue sky in the northwest. The snow was about 25cm deep in Gotenba Course and the road was totally covered with snow.
