Tsugaike Kogen/ ◎160cm / Snowy2020.Jan.31

20013101_tsugaikeIt was really chilly and snowy with the strong northwesterly wind blowing in the top area. The firmly compacted snow was covered with 5~7 cm of fresh snow in Tsuga-no-mori Slope. The non-compacted snow was covered with 10~15 cm of fresh snow. However, it was hard to control ski edges because of the hard bottom layer.

20013102_tsugaikeThe firmly compacted snow along Han-no-ki High-speed Pair Lift and the hard compacted snow in the middle part of Han-no-ki was covered with 3 cm of fresh snow.  Meanwhile, the non-compacted snow in the middle part of Han-no-ki was covered with 10~15 cm of fresh snow (pictured). “We don’t stay overnight today. The snow is excellent!”, two snowboarders from Shizuoka said.

20013103_tsugaikeThe snow was firmly compacted, covered with 1~2 cm of wet fresh snow in the lower part of Han-no-ki Slope. The snow was compacted and moderately firm in Maruyama Slope (pictured). I enjoyed skiing down on about 3 cm of silky fresh snow there.

20013104_tsugaikeI didn’t feel the bottom on the 15~20 cm of heavy non-compacted fresh snow in Champion Slope. “JAPOW is famous in England too. We know we have less snow this season but the snow quality is good today!”, two visitors from Manchester, England said.
