It was foggy at Tsuga-no-mori when the slope opened, however, the fog soon lifted and soft sunlight came through. There was about 5 cm of soft fresh snow from last night on the non-compacted area. “We enjoy your reports! We’re glad that the slope condition got better thanks to the snowfall over the last two nights!”, a man from Kanagawa Prefecture and a lady from Hakuba Village said.
[Tsuga-no-mori Slope]
Powder snow was well-compacted and firm at Tsuga-no-mori Slope and the area along Hannoki High-speed Pair Lift! I got excited at the snow of excellent quality, even though it is late March. My ski edges cut into the snow well and I enjoyed making turns.
[Hannoki Slope]
Powder snow was nicely firm on my way to the steep slope in the middle area of Hannoki. It gradually turned to wet snow, however, skis still ran smoothly and I saw lots of people coming up by Gondola and going down in the morning.
[Hannoki Slope]
Wet snow was firm on the flat Maruyama Slope. The surface was getting melted, however, it was actually good to ski down. Wet fresh snow lied about 2 cm deep at the firm Kane-no-naruoka Slope, which was compacted early in the day. It was also nice and my skis were not stuck.
