This morning, dried snow was flitting with a strong north wind. Gondola didn’t work at 8a.m., so people at Sanroku St. headed to the top of the Slope using high-speed pair lift. The first track was made around 8:20 in Champion Slope.

There was 3〜5cm light fresh snow on the groomed ground with a granular snow in Champion Slope. But a strong wind blew the fresh snow away,so the hard ground and soft fresh snow were mixed. It was a little bit hard to slide down.

By the way, the event ‘Ride with Guch in Hakuba Valley’, you can enjoy sliding with Bryan Iguchi, a pioneer of snowboarding, was held today. The powderd snow was soft in the groomed area of Tsuganomori Slope. We could enjoy sliding down pushing aside 15〜20cm fresh snow along Tsuga the 1st pair lift, which had not been groomed.
[Tsuganomori Slope]
Hannoki Slope had been groomed and as soft as Tsuganomori Slope with powdered snow. Maruyama Slope was groomed with compacted powdered snow. A man from Niigat talked to us, “I always read your reports! Today I’m coaching a group from Shiga.”
