Tsugaike Kogen / ◎260cm / Snowy2019.Jan.26

19012601_tsugaikeSmall snowflakes were whirling around densley in the thin fog, riding on the gentle wind. About 20 people were waiting in a line for Tsuga No.2 Pair to start operation. Most of them headed for Umanose Course and Tsuga-no-mori Slope was empty at first. About 3 cm of fresh snow lied on the firm powder snow at the compacted area, while about 30 cm of fresh snow lied at the non-compacted area.

19012602_tsugaikeThe area along Hannoki High-speed Pair Lift was nicely firm like the compacted area of Tsugaike Slope. There was 7-8 cm of fresh snow on the firm slope at the middle and lower area. It was filled with ski tracks and looked rough, however, it was nice actually and my skis were not stuck.

19012603_tsugaikeThere was 3 cm of fresh snow on the wide, flat and nicely firm slope of Kane-no-naruoka No. 2, which was great. “We enjoy your reports! We wanted to go to TG PARKS, but unfortunately, it’s still closed. Instead, we’ll have a warm-up at Kanenaru No.2.”, snowboarders coming from Azumino City, Nagano Prefecture said.

19012604_tsugaikeA snowfall warning was issued in Otari-mura at 20:23 last night, however, we did not have much snow. By the way, it’s an Australian public holiday “Australia Day” today, on Jan.26 (Sat). I saw skiers/snowboarders holding a national flag at Happo and Goryu 47.
