I went into the fog in the light snow when I headed for the top area by Gondola. I thought visibility would be poor during the interview. However, I reached above clouds before long and soft sunlight cast onto Tsuga-no-mori and the area along Hannoki High-speed Pair. The temperature was 0℃ at Tsuga-no-mori as of 8:20 a.m. and it was not so chilly.

Fresh snow covered tracks at Tsuga-no-mori, which was compacted hard. It was in nice condition and most people went down without stopping. “I enjoy your reports every day from November. This is my first to time to see a reporter!”, a skier coming from Aichi Prefecture told me happily.

By the way, there was about 4cm of fresh snow on the non-compacted area. More people arrived past 9 am and the area along Hannoki High-speed Pair got crowded. It was also hard but good to slide down because a little fresh snow and snow shaved by edges worked like a buffer material.

When I reached Shirakaba Slope via Rindo Course, it was shrouded in the fog as I had expected. The slope was totally non-compacted and difficult to slide down with firm granular snow, snowballs, and bushes. My visibility improved when I went down the middle part.
