At 10:00 a.m, the top of Tsugaike was in a snowstorm. In such a stormy weather, a couple from Niigata greeted me and said, “We are on your website once a year!” The heavy snowfall from the last night brought 40cm fresh snow in the ungroomed areas and 20cm in the central part of Tsuga-no-mori.

After the difficult slope of Tsuga-no-mori which has heavy wet snow and firm bumps, I came down to the slope along Han-no-ki High Speed Pair. It was still snowing here as well, but the wind got weaker. The groomed slope was nicely firm and flat, so I could ski comfortably.
[Han-no-ki]
In the middle steep part of Han-no-ki, there were many bumps and some people fell down because of the heavy wet snow. The lower gentle slope was as good as the slope along Han-no-ki High Speed Pair. By the way, Umanose Course and Rindo Course were closed because of the risk of avalanche caused by the warm weather and heavy snowfall.

The snow in the upper part changed into sleet in the middle part of Han-no-ki and rain in Karamatsu. There was also 5cm fresh snow on the groomed firm slope of Karamatsu. Night Skiing Operation in Karamatsu and Shirakaba will be held just 2 times in the rest of this winter, on Mar. 3 (Sat) and Mar. 10 (Sat).
