Every third Sunday is “Ski Kid’s day” and lift tickets for children under 12 y/o is free. From the bottom of Champion to Oyanohara, the snow was moderately firm and it was good to ski for beginners and children. It was impressive that they were enjoying skiing slowly in the good warm weather.

The official announced temperature was so low, -11 degrees. However, there was blue sky above us from the east and it was warm with sunlight. So it was comfortable even at the top of ski slopes. The groomed slope of Tsuga-no-mori was groomed moderately and I could enjoy skiing at high speed.

The ridges of Northern Alps were covered by clouds. At Tsuga-no-mori and the top of Hannoki, sometimes the snow was dancing with wind. The slopes along Han-no-ki High Speed Pair was also moderately firm. At the steep slopes along Han-no-ki No.3 Quad was hard but small granular snow on the foundation so it was good to ski.

Three visitors from Toyama Pref. gave me the watchword, “We always enjoy your reports! We came to ride in the early morning.” The man on the right in picture came here after 20 years. He was surprised for the increasing of snowboarders. At Maruyama, the snow was also flat and nicely firm so I could enjoy making turns comfortably.
