Tsugaike Kogen / ◎270cm / Snowy & Rainy2018.Jan.17
It was very warm, +6 degrees and raining in the mountain foot. As I go up to the upper areas by the gondola, the rain completely changed into snow. There was 10cm heavy fresh snow in the slope along Han-no-ki High Speed Pair. A man from Saitama greeted me, “Good morning! This is the first time to ride for me this season!”

In Tsuga-no-mori, the slopes were covered with 10cm damp snow. However, the runs in the upper areas were nicely firm and flat, so my skis ran well. By the way, “BONX Presents RIDE wiht Terje in Hakuba Valley” will be held here.

In the steep slope in the middle Han-no-ki, the 6-8cm fresh snow got much damp and it was difficult to make turns. In the lower part, there was not fresh snow and I could ski comfortably again.

“Yeti”, a restaurant in the intermediate station of the gondola, participates in “Ski Resort Food Battle” this season. The recommended menus are “Spring Vegetable Pancetta with Steamed Egg” (JPY1,250) and “Salad Pizza of Soy Milk Cheese with Genova Sauce” (JPY1,500). It has also other various dishes, such as Margherita (JPY1,500) and “Snow Square White Omelette Rice” (JPY1,280).
