It was a clear Sunday. The weather was perfect for skiing, however, the start of gondola working was much delayed because of the safety check. There was a long line of people waiting for the working at Gondola Station.

There were also some people waiting at Gondola Intermediate Station and Snow Square. Meanwhile, tele-markers from Toyama and Matsumoto city in Nagano talked to me, saying “Hi, I always enjoy reports of Snownavi!” They then climbed Shirakaba Slope, equipping themselves with climbing skins.

There were some uncovered parts in the lowest area of Hannoki Slope. However, it couldn’t hurt ski boards because I needed to walk on the flat way to the Intermediate Station. I saw climbing people and left tracks at Champion Slope, which had about 30cm of snow. The gondola started working around 10:30.

TSUGA BASE, a new takeout shop next to the foot bath in Tsuga-no-Yu, was open yesterday, Dec.9 (Sat). The manager recommends “Pulled Pork Burger (shown in the picture)”. A pork, which is cooked thoroughly at a low temperature until the fibres get loose, is placed inside buns. You can also enjoy various kinds of alcohol, including beer, local sake, and whiskey.
