We had a calm morning with a breeze. The blue sky spread out just after the ski area was open, but the clouds gathered over Northern Alps and the sunlight was often blocked off in the upper areas. A man from Shiga Pref. greeted me and said, “It had been 3 years since I came to Hakuba last. There is still much snow in this winter.”

Tsuga-no-mori was widely groomed and in fine condition thanks to the snowfall in these days. The slope was nicely firm and I could make turns as I imagined. Today was a weekend, so I saw many people from the early time and the station of Tsugaike Ropeway had a long line before its opening.

The slope along Han-no-ki High Speed Pair was also in good condition. A father and his child who cheered me there were also enjoying skiing. The snow changed into creamy in the middle steep part, but I could ski comfortably as well.

In Champion, “SAJ Technical Crown Prize Advance Course” was held. I met 4 people who were taking the lesson and they showed me their skillful skiing in the nicely-melting flat steep slope after taking photos. Tomorrow, Mar. 26 (Sun), “SAJ Technical Crown Prize Ski Test” will be held at 9:30 a.m. (Entry starts at 8:00 a.m. at Tsugaike Ski School)
