Snow from the Northern Alps was dancing under the beautiful blue sky. A man from Itoigawa City said, “I’m glad that the weather turned nice, as it was snowy when I left home.” The snow since last night has been fluffy but as much as 10 cm on the non-groomed part in Tsuga-no-mori.

The groomed part was very nice and firm, and it was the best powdery snow condition. The edges worked very well, so I could make turns repeatedly as I imagined. The non-groomed part was also in a good powdery snow condition. I had a good time.

The quality of snow remained great as I was skiing down. I could ski at high speed along about 3 km long course in Han-no-ki.When I looked down the whole ski area, the wide slopes looked pure white and so beautifully groomed. I couldn’t decide which way to go.

The slopes were in the best condition in Shirakaba, Maruyama, Kane-no-naru-oka No.2 and Champion. However, there weren’t so many people in the early morning on weekday. I felt as if I had been skiing in my private ski area. The weather forecast says it will be nice and warm till tomorrow.
