The strong wind was blowing at the upper part of the ski area and the gondola was not operating in the early hours. Shirakaba Quad started from 8:10 a.m. and people from Karamatsu High Speed Pair and Kane-no-naru-oka Skyliner rode up the lift one after another. The north half of Shirakaba was restricted for “Tsugaike Juniour Cup Super Giant Slalom Competition”.

The run of Shirakaba and Champion were groomed very widely and the edges were biting the snow surface so well that I could make the turn as I imagined. The wind was blowing weakly at the bottom area and the snow was lightly falling.

The non-groomed area along the Champion Quad was covered with 10-15 cm fresh snow. Though the snow was bit heavy but the run under fresh snow was soft and it was fun to ski there. I could not decide to which way to ski because the groomed run was also in a fine condition.

The very wide & flat run of Oya-no-hara and Karamatsu were nicely firm. It was impressive that the beginners were skiing and snowboarding at their own pace. From 9:25 a.m. the gondola started the operation and the lifts of upper area also started working.
