It was high-cloudy weather this morning. The wind was not blowing at the bottom, but at the upper area gale was blowing, so the gondola was not operating. Shirakaba Quad began the operation from 8:15 a.m. and the visitors from Karamatsu Pair were riding up one after another.

At the bottom of ski area, the soft sunlight was shining and I didn’t feel cold. The runs of Shirakaba, Maruyama, and Champion were groomed widely. Especially in the early morning, the weak sunlight shined the corduroy pattern on the slope at Maruyama, and it was so beautiful.

Maruyama area has the average slope angle of 12 degrees and the maximum slope angle of 15 degrees. The course is wide and not too steep, so it is suitable to practice or improve skills. Yesterday was sunny all day long, but surface of the snow was nicely firm and it was in powdery condition.

I rode up to the upper part of the ski area by Han-no-ki Quad No.3, but soon the lift stopped the operation. It was regrettable because the flat run of Han-no-ki was moderately firm and I could ski very comfortably. The gentle slopes at the bottom area, like Oya-no-hara and Kane-no-naru-oka, were also groomed well and nicely firm.
