Tsugaike Kogen / ◎300cm / Sunny2017.Jan.26
We had an ideal day for skiing and snowboarding with the clear sky and no wind. We could see the beautiful contrast of the blue sky and white peaks of Northern Alps. When I came up to Tsuga-no-mori by Tsuga No.2 Pair which was open at 8:20 a.m, the slope was covered with fine corduroy patterns.

It was very cold, -11 degress, because of the radiative cooling, so the condition of the snow was awesome. The slope along Han-no-ki High Speed Pair was also groomed and nicely soft. University students from Aichi Pref. said to me, “Today is the best day ever!!”

The condition of snow still remained good even in the middle parts, such as Shirakaba. The edges of my skis worked well on the soft runs and I could make turns comfortably. The heavy snowfall keeps the slopes in good condition, so I could not decide where to ski.

The groomed slopes of Oya-no-hara and Karamatsu in the lower area were nicely firm and people were enjoy skiing and snowboarding at their own pace in the wide runs. Each area got more and more crowded at around 9:30 a.m. and Chuo Parking Area was almost full at that time.
