It was snowing very heavily with a strong wind, so the gondola was not operating in the early morning. Shirakaba Quad was opened at 8:30 a.m. and the wide flat slope of Shirakaba was covered with 25cm fresh snow. I could fully enjoy the powder snow and everyone was shouting for joy.

The amounts of fresh snow in Champion area were 30cm in the groomed area and 40－50cm in the ungroomed area. A group from Kansai and Kanto looked to be excited with the powdery snow and they said to me, “We finally find you!”

The gondola started the operation after 9:00 a.m. In Tsuga-no-mori, there was 40－50cm fluffy snow welcomed us as well!! However, the visibility was poor because of the heavy snow and strong wind.

As I skied down to the lower areas, the wind was getting abated. Han-no-ki was crowded with many people this morning, so the slope got rough soon. The flat run of Kane-no-naru-oka was also covered with 15－20cm fresh snow and I found beginners stuck in it.
