Since it have been snowing and freezing cold, the snow this morning was really good powder snow! But the strong wind kept blowing, it made the upper part of Gondola( Shirakaba station to Tsuga-no-mori station) unavailable for a while. This family from Aichi pref. said they were glad to see the reporter. Today is “Ski Children’s Day” so that children were free.

There were already many ski tracks on Shirakaba slope because of early morning operation. But the snow was still soft and I could ski comfortably. The sky was covered with thick clouds and also it was foggy. So it was gloomy and the lights were still working.

As soon as Chapion Quad started working at 9 a.m., many expert skiers and snowboarders got on the lift. There was 30cm fresh snow on the middle part of the slope and I found people were shouting with joy.

There were soft fresh snow of knee-high on non-groomed area along Champion Quad. And I could really enjoy the powder snow. The north wind had kept blowing even at 10 a.m., and it made me feel so cold.
