Karamatsu and Shirakaba started early morning operation for the first time this season and they started working from 6:30 a.m. You don’t have to pay extra money for the early morning operation, as long as you have a ticket that is valid for the day. Before dawn, the snow on the slope was decorated by lights beautifully.

Around 7:00 a.m., the sky was getting red and I felt I was lucky to have this beautiful view. Though the temperature was really cold, the slope was moderately firm and in a good condition. I felt good when I made the first ski tracks of the day.

Gradually the slope got crowded with many people around 7 a.m. I found a little bush at Karamatsu but the run was nicely firm to enjoy. Here are the schedules of early morning operations after today, Jan.9th , Jan,15th, Jan 22nd, Jan 29ht and Feb.12th.

Shortly, as most of the lifts got started at 8 a.m., many people gathered on slopes. Champion Quad started operations from 8:30 a.m. The upper part of Champion Quad, I found a bunch of bushes but on the other hand, the bottom part where the snow was groomed well and it was good to enjoy skiing and snowboarding. There were many families and beginners enjoying skiing and snowboarding at Oya-no-hara slope.
