Snowcat Tour, a guided mountain tour by Snowcat to Mt. Neko, is held every day from Jan. 8 (Sat) to the end of March (*Cancellation can happen in bad weather). 2 people from Tokyo (Photo) said, “We came to Sugadaira because we saw the weather would be good today. How beautiful this view is! We are so happy to join this tour!”

The snowcat of the first depature at 9:00 a.m. was taken by 6 people including our reporter. This tour started from the top station of Oku Davos No.1 Triple Lift to the snowcat summit point (Altitude 2,170m) in 20 minutes. From the arrival point, a guide led us to the summit of Mt. Neko (Altitude 2,207m) (Photo).

During this tour, the guide gave us some attentions in wintry mountain and explanation of the mountains around. It took about 10 minutes to reach the summit point of Mt. Neko (Photo) from the snowcat arrival point. By the way, it is better to take snowshoes to walk on the snow, but the guide made a way for us, so it was not so hard to walk without them.

The totally 3km long course of Downhill (Photo) from the snowcat arrival point was nicely soft and in good snow condition. The snow in the off-piste areas was packed with the strong wind, but there was over 40cm deep fluffy snow there. By the way, “Sugadaira Curry Festival” is held in Sugadaira until Feb. 28 (Mon) (*If you are not a resident of Ueda City, you can join this festival by following the account of Sugadairiders at Facebook or Twitter).
