Sanosaka / ◎70cm / Snowy2017.Jan.13

17011301_sanosakaWe have heavy snow for two days and it was snowing heavily at 10 a.m. this morning. Two people from Azumino City were smiling and saying “We are happy to have snow!” The amount of snow became 70 cm and trees were covered with frosts. The view was typical of January.
[New Paradise]
17011302_sanosakaIt took a long time to remove the snow, so No.5 pair started working at around 11 a.m. Powder-freaks skied down the smooth powder slope one after another soon after the lifts start to operate. The amount of fresh snow was over 50 cm at upper area. When I skied with speed, a cloud of snow rose as if it covered my body.
[New Paradise]
17011303_sanosakaI didn’t have bottom touching feeling, and I enjoyed fluffy powder snow. The snow had fallen more heavily as the time passed. However, there was almost no wind, so I didn’t feel cold so much. There was over 10 cm of fresh snow on the soft-groomed run at Lake-down Course and Family Slope.

17011304_sanosakaParadise Slope and Paradise Downhill were well-groomed and it was powdery condition. By the way, Hakuba Sanosaka is “all-available” (over 80% of the slopes were available.) today. Carving Slope is going to open this weekend. (It will take very long time for preparation, so the date of open, tomorrow or day after tomorrow, has not been set yet.)
