Nomugi Toge is currently taking part in the Kiso Area Mutual Discount and Mt. Norikura Snow Resort Mutual Discount programs. Those programs entitle season pass holders of other participating resorts (Yabuhara, Kaida Kogen Mia, Kiso Fukushima, Ontake and Mt. Norikura) to purchase a single 1-day lift ticket for only ¥2,000 upon presenting their season passon. After 10:00 this morning, occasional strong gusts of wind from the west made it feel colder than the temperature alonge suggested.
[Sky Rabbit]
This morning the opening of Sky Rabbit was delayed by around 30 minutes, so I began my day on the groomed Panorama Course, which was topped off with around 2 to 3cm of new snow, as well as Tatemizu no Saka and the Family Course.
[Champion Course]
It was a slow start with few customers to begin the day, which made for enjoyable, relaxed runs everywhere. The well-packed, groomed wet-snow surface of the Champion Course 2 was covered in around 5cm of fresh snow. The Rabbit Course had a more firmly-packed wet-snow surface, while Expert was hardpacked.

I bumped into a snowboarder from Aichi (pictured), who started out by asking me, “Are you with Snownavi?” He went on to say, “I usually spend the weekends sleeping in my car and boarding here at Nomugi Toge. I was able to take a paid day off today, so I came out for the day to work on my technique. I’m hoping I can come out and board together with my family after our child is born.” In other news, lift tickets for pre-school age children are always free at Nomugi Toge. Also, the resort will be holding a Kids Ski Free Day on 2/20 (Sun.), where elementary students are eligible for complimentary lift tickets!
