Kashimayari / 35cm / Sunny2017.Jan.09

17010901_kashimayariDue to the developing low-pressure system over the southern coast, we had a heavy snowfall from last evening till the midnight. It was typical Kami-yuki (snow that falls under the influence of low-pressure system over the Japanese southern coast), so the amount was less than I had expected. However, there was 15~18 cm of soft fresh snow and I could enjoy skiing on the powder snow remaining in the corner.
[Course 1: Toomi Grand View A]
17010902_kashimayariThe fog which was enveloping center slope had disappeared gradually since around 8:00 am and I sometimes saw the blue sky. There was fresh snow over the well-compacted snow, so the Course 1-A was very soft. It was very nice, however, the edges of ski sank deeply when I was skiing down with speed. I saw even advanced skiers losing their balance.
[Course 1: Toomi Grand View A]
17010903_kashimayariAs soon as the No.5 pair lifts started working around 8:30 am, people got on one after another to enjoy fresh snow. There were some bushes on the Course 5-C, however, they weren’t so bad as to damage the ski. In addition, the rise and fall of the ground didn’t bother me so much. I could enjoy the ski straight on the powder snow!
[Course 5-C]
17010904_kashimayariNo.3 quad started working later than scheduled. So corduroy pattern remained for a while on the Kashima slope and making my tracks was very exciting. By the way, the weather forecast is saying it will be snowy tonight, too.
[Course 3: Kashima]
