Hakuba Iwatake / △30cm / Sunny2019.Dec.29
East Slope pre-opened at 8 a.m. today! There’s a special offer until other courses become available; you’ll pay only for a Gondola ticket (adult, 2,100 yen; child 1,150 yen). “We enjoy your reports! We come to Hakuba every year.”, three snowboarders from Nagano and Matsumoto city, who were the first to arrive, said.
[East Slope]
The slope was non-compacted because there was not much snow. Anyway, the dry snow was nicely firm and my skis ran smoothly. There were ups and downs, and small bushes were exposed here and there. So, I went down carefully at first.
[East Slope]
The slope gradually got crowded as it’s New Year’s holiday. However, there was no waiting line for the lifts as of 9 a.m.
[East Slope]
The dining space at THE CITY BAKERY was crowded with visitors (※Open 9 a.m.~3:30p.m., sandwiches served from 10:30 a.m.~) It’s great to have a cup of coffee in the warm place, admiring the Nothern Alps. I saw people taking commemorative photos and landscape photos at the terrace, using tripods.
