Hakuba Iwatake / ×20cm / Sunny2019.Dec.25

19122505_iwatakeAt 8:40 a.m. the upper part of the Iwatake snowfield is the coldest of the season with the temperature of -6℃. However, I did not feel the cold under the strong sunlight and calm, and as I walked around, I gradually sweated. Looking west, the blue sky and pure white Hakuba Sanzan (photo) showed a beautiful contrast.

[East Slope]

It was snowing from early morning to late evening yesterday, the cumulative snowfall this morning was surprisingly small, 8 cm around the Gondola summit station and 3-5 cm on the southern slopes (photo) facing south. On the south slopes, gezan course, and the east slopes, the impression was generally slightly lower than on Dec,23 (Mon).

[South Slope]

19122504_iwatakeOn the other hand, the snow cover on the north slope (photo) facing north and VIEW C and VIEW D was 20 to 25 cm. The upper 15-20cm is dry and soft, and the lower 5cm sounds “Zaku” under my foot. The undergrowth is not completely hidden,
It need to snow one or two more times to be able to slide.

[North Slope]

19122508_iwatakeEven so, frost was wonderful. The bush coming out of the snow surface also turns into frost, the number of times the camera is pointed and shot, both far and near, has increased. In the weather forecast, snow marks are lined up from early morning on Dec,27 (Fri) to early morning on Dec, 28(Sat).
