19033101_iwatake“Aiko Uemura Junior Mogul Camp”, sponsored by Ski Association of Nagano, was held at South Slope. Forty students coming from inside and outside of Nagano were divided into five groups and took group lessons. Ms. Aiko Uemura (wearing white ski clothes), who is a retired freestyle mogul skier, and Mr. Kosuke Sugimoto (wearing black ski clothes) , who will participate in All Japan Championships, gave lessons.

Ms. Aiko Uemura were showing how to ski moguls (as shown in the photo), how to take off, and how to do the basic position at the jump boards. The lessons will continue until 3:30 p.m.after the lunch break.

19033103_iwatakeBy the way, Hakuba Iwatake Snowfield will be closed today on Mar. 31 (Sat). Surprisingly, the amount of fresh snow from last night reached 20 cm although it was the end of March. Because of that, slope maintenance and security inspection took time and Gondola started operation around 9:30 a.m. Large snowflakes were still falling quietly as of  11:50 a.m. (as shown in the photo).
[East Slope]
19033104_iwatakeGranular snow was nicely firm on East Slope and South Slope. “Hi! It’s so sad that slope will be closed today even though we’ve got much snow.”, people from various parts of Nagano said. Thank you very much for visiting the slope and reading our reports this season. See you in next season!
