Hakuba Iwatake / ◎200cm / Cloudy2019.Feb.09
It was cloudy without wind this morning. It has been very cold these days and the upper area of Snowfield was like the world of rime. Many people arrived early as it was a three-day weekend. More than 80% were full at Parking No.1 as of 9 am and there was a long waiting line at the ticket center in Gondola Sanroku Station.

The slope condition was better today as we had dry snow, not much but 3-5 cm of snow, last night. South Slope was flat and nicely firm and I saw advanced snowboarders making carving turns, inclining their body.
[South Slope]
Sawa Course, which was most influenced by the rain and wind at the beginning of this week among upper courses, has got better. The first gentle slope was soft, covered with powder snow (as shown in the photo). My ski edges cut into the snow well and I enjoyed gaining speed, although the middle and last parts were a bit hard.

I found the slope was hard on my way to Sunny Valley Course to the foot. Small hard moguslwere covered with 3-10 cm of fresh snow on the non-compacted steep slope of Kamoshika Pocket (Maximum degree of inclination 26°, Average degree of incline 20°). Meanwhile, I saw some uncovered parts on the hard compacted Big Bahn.
