Hakuba Iwatake / ◎200cm / Cloudy2019.Jan.29

19012901_iwatakeYesterday, all courses along Kamo1 lift opened, and 28 courses except SONNEZAWA and by 4 opened! Last night, more than 30 cm of fresh snow fell, this morning “the whole world is pure white world”. In search of powder snow, go through South Course of moderately soft and compacted snow, and I entered Hilltop (photo) of non compacted snow …
[Hilltop]
19012902_iwatakeFluffy powder of 30 ~ 35 cm greeted me! The snow was a bit firm by the wind, but thanks to that, I did not sink, and when I slid straight it got a sense of floating.

19012903_iwatakeWith soft compacted snow Sawa Course, I was able to ride speed while enjoying the feeling of fresh snow 5 ~ 6 cm. 4 people from Australia said me “Powder was the highest comfortable! Because the lift was stop, We walk up and climb.” The Sawa Lift started moving at 8:45 a.m.  after this.

19012904_iwatakeThe compacted snow course such as South Slope, East Slope, Gezan Course, Sunny Valley Course, Paradise Slope, etc. are full of powder snow feel and very beautiful. When measuring the new snowfall in the non compacted snow part of the lower part of the Paradise Slope, it was around 30 cm.
